Creating a test business for assessments in MYOB

Create MYOB Trial

STEP 1

Log out of MYOB

Log out of any existing MYOB sessions. If you do not log out, you may not be able to create the new business trial.

STEP 2

CLICK TRY FREE TODAY

Click the button below, and then click Try FREE today

Create MYOB Education Trial

STEP 3

Enter your email address

Log out of any existing MYOB sessions. If you do not log out, you may not be able to create the new business trial.

STEP 4

Enter The Details

Enter your name and phone number plus the Business name for the organisation required for your learning
E.g. 'FNSACC321 Assessment Bright Spark John Doe'

---Please confirm the required name with your teacher. It should include the module code, organisation name, and your full name.

STEP 5

Set your password Or
log in

CREATE ACCOUNT / Set PASSWORD

If this is your first MYOB trial

Enter a password including all the requirements shown in the screenshot below and then click Set password.

MYOB will then create the MYOB Business file.

Existing User / Log in

Existing User

If you have created MYOB trials in the past, you will have the opportunity to sign in.
Use the same email address and password as you used last time.

STEP 6

Access your software

You are next required to enter a few details about the business starting with the ABN.

Add business details

ABN - 84 111 122 223
Registered for GST - Yes
What type of business is this? Company

Industry - REFER TO STUDENT NOTES. "Other Services" option has been removed from MYOB as of Jan 2025.)
Your role - Student or teacher
Employees? No
Move data? Ignore / leave unticked

STEP 8

Record Serial Number

You are then taken to the Dashboard for the organisation you set up.

Record the serial number of your MYOB Business file so that you can share, if required, with your teacher.

Click the organisation name in the top right-hand corner of the screen to display the dropdown menu.
You will see the serial number at the bottom of the menu beneath your email address.

STEP 9

Create User

MYOB Business includes the ability to create additional users for your business. This function can be used to provide your teacher with access to your organisation.

Click the organisation name in the top right-hand corner of the screen to display the dropdown menu.
Click Users towards the bottom of the menu.

Click 'Create user'
- Name = Winnie Ward
- Email = winnie.ward@dvlc.org.au
- Roles and permissions = Administrator
- User Type = File User
Click 'Save and Send Invitation'

Your teacher will receive an email from MYOB Business containing a link to your organisation and their details are added to the list of users.
